What does that last paragraph mean for your EMS agency or Fire Station housed narcotics?
In November of this year (2023), the following will be required for interoperable electronic tracing at the package level:
▪ Transaction information exchanged in secure, interoperable electronic manner.
▪ Transaction information shall include product identifier at package level.
▪ Systems and processes for verification at package level, including standard numerical identifier (serial number).
▪ Systems and processes necessary to facilitate gathering of transaction information for each transaction going back to the manufacturer to investigate suspect product or during a recall, when requested by regulators or trading partners.
